Recently, I was doing a private training session with the uniquely cute, T-Boy. Come when called is a potentially life saving skill that all of our dogs need to know.
How reliable would you say he is uncome When called in an environment like this Let’s just say why don’t we play a game With you guys where you call him back And forth call him in a happy voice Having him simply come to you is not Necessarily good enough i want him Running to you i want him bolting to you As fast as he can and the more energetic We are the more likely they are to do That Yeah that’s it that’s how you call your Dog Look at that look at that run Why don’t we spread out the distance a Little bit more we’ve got a massive Distance between you guys T-boy can do this Go ahead and call him happy voice There we go see that he got distracted Be more exciting than the environment he Was going over here to sniff something But you were more exciting than that Thing Be more exciting than the camera Part of the reason that he’s doing so Well is because you’ve worked with him And you’ve got an exceptional Relationship it’s clear part of the Other reason that he’s so good at it is Because he’s young he’s going to start To drift more from you as he gets older That’s instinctive that’s normal they Get more and more curious with age
You
